Community Event: Artist Demonstration with Roberto Lugo
The Princeton University Art Museum welcomes artist, ceramist, social activist, poet, and educator Roberto Lugo to Art@Bainbridge for a hands-on making event where Lugo will lead a wheel-throwing demonstration. Learn how to decorate a pre-thrown vessel with visual motifs that combine classic patterns and elements of hip-hop and streetwear.
Lugo’s work will be on view in the exhibition Roberto Lugo / Orange and Black from Saturday, February 15 to Sunday, July 6 at Art@Bainbridge. The exhibition features vases that draw on the shapes, techniques, and decorative motifs of ancient Greek vessels to tell personal and communal stories of contemporary social and political oppression.
